This hotel is also located in the popular resort of Tsilivi – right at its southern, peaceful end. Without a doubt, this is one of the most boutique stylish hotels in Tsilivi and on the whole island. An architecturally precise affair with charming terrace pools, thatched roofs, seating on the terraces with a great view of the surroundings. When it comes to amenities, aesthetics and style of exteriors and interiors, the hotel is top notch not only by Greek standards.

The resort of Kalamaki is located approx. 3 km east of Laganas and approx. 4 km from the town of Zante. The convenient location at the intersection between the city and the bustling Laganas and the proximity to the airport make Kalamaki a very good destination. The resort itself is also sprawling and lively, but more spread out than Laganas. There are wonderful views of Mount Skopos from here, Kalamaki is an ideal starting point for trips to the nature around it. 11. Hotel Poseidon Beach
The resort of Laganas is an icon not only of the island of Zakynthos, but also one of the famous attractions in the whole of Greece. The reason is not only the famous and altogether almost 3 km long and extremely wide beach or the legendary Cameo Island – an islet connected to the coast by a long wooden bridge.
It’s not even the beautiful views that the resort, located in a wide bay protected by mountains on both sides, offers. Laganas is above all synonymous with fun and bustle. It is something between Ibiza and Las Vegas. On the very long and wide main street you will find hundreds of restaurants, bars, pubs, night clubs and shops. However, even the side streets are not spared from traffic. This place is a paradise for nightlife lovers.
Still, it’s definitely not to say that you won’t find a quiet place in Laganas. Most of the entertainment is really centered around the main strip and the surrounding area, so many resorts – like Poseidon Beach – are tucked away and you can relax in peace. Poseidon Beach faces the beach full of sunbeds and bars. There is also a swimming pool with sunbeds and umbrellas right on the hotel grounds. The rooms are very well equipped. Although the hotel is three-star, it is one of the most famous in Laganas.

Zakynthos and the Ionian Islands
The island of Zakynthos, or Zante, is clearly one of the most beautiful pearls of Greece. It lies in the Ionian Sea and belongs to the so-called Ionian Islands. At the same time, it is the second southernmost of them, to the north is the largest Kefalonia with the small island of Ithaca, followed by Lefkada and at a greater distance – on the very northern border of Greece, you will find the island of Corfu. The southernmost island of Kythira, on the other hand, lies below the “third tooth” of the Peloponnese. Almost 300 km south of Zakynthos.
Of these islands, Zakynthos, together with Lefkada and Kefalonia, is the most attractive and well-known for tourism. Compared to the islands in the Aegean Sea, the Ionian ones are significantly juicier and greener, less arid due to the specific climate. They therefore have a completely different character than, for example, Kos, Rhodes, volcanic Thera or Mykonos.
What is there to see on the island of Zakynthos?
Zakynthos offers many truly breathtaking beauties and is known as the sunniest island of Greece. The capital is a beautiful Mediterranean port with a breathtaking atmosphere. Especially in the evening, when it’s really lively here. There is a beautiful view of the 16,000-strong city of many winding streets from the Bochali Fort, which stands on a hill above the city.
However, seaside resorts lie outside the city. Probably the most famous and largest destination is Laganas on the south coast with its endless beaches. This place is sometimes referred to as the “Greek Las Vegas”. Kalamaki and Argassi are nearby, and others are around Ano Basilikos and Gerakas on the southernmost tip of the island. Conversely, to the north of the city are resorts such as Tsivili and Amoudi or Alykanas. Adorable, small and peaceful is the northernmost destination of Agios Nikolaos.
While the east and south of the island belong to fertile, green lowlands, endless olive groves and busy resorts, the west has a completely different character. Wild mountain ranges stretch along the west coast, hiding ancient, completely authentic Greek villages cut off from the world. Time seems to have stopped here. The coast is then lined with high and jagged cliffs and there are many fascinating hidden beaches, capes, coves, caves, coves and other places to swim. The world-famous shipwreck beach of Navagio, which is still only accessible by boat, is just one of many. Although there are no major resorts on the west coast, accommodation is easy to find here.
Zakynthos is less than 40 km across. Nevertheless, it offers as much variety as the entire vast state. It definitely represents an excellent location for a vacation of any kind
